But here’s what those ads aren’t telling you: there are no completely free air conditioners under any legitimate Victorian government program. Every VEU installation has a minimum customer co-payment. And companies that advertise $0 cost are either non-compliant with program rules, cutting corners elsewhere to absorb the cost — or both.

What the VEU Program Actually Says About ‘Free’ Installations

📋  OFFICIAL VEU RULE — MINIMUM CO-PAYMENT Under the official VEU program rules administered by the Essential Services Commission: the minimum customer contribution is $200 for systems up to 10kW capacity and $1,000 for systems greater than 10kW (including multi-head and ducted systems). Warranty enforcement
